Diagnosed with cancer, the teen Hazel Grace Lancaster (Shailene Woodley) is kept alive thanks to an experimental drug. After spending years struggling with the disease, she is forced by her parents to join a group of Christian support. There he meets Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort), a boy who also suffers from cancer. The two have very different views of their illnesses: Hazel is concerned only with the pain that you may cause to others, since Augustus dreams of leaving his own mark on the world.
